Andrew Shaffer offers a delightful children’s story that kids of all ages will love with “Mothman’s Merry Cryptid Christmas.”
Just a short story with simple but adorable illustrations and clever rhymes, it tells the story of how Santa Claus asks the “least famous cryptid of all” — Mothman — to help him on Christmas Eve. Mothman turns to his friend for advice, eventually deciding to overcome his insecurities to help out Santa.
“Mothman’s Merry Cryptid Christmas” is a sweet little story that also shows the importance of overcoming negativity and finding confidence, and the power of friendship. It also provides a brief history of the Mothman legend and contains a reading guide for parents, teachers and librarians at the book’s end.
Shaffer’s story, due out Nov. 14, is sure to becoming a family favorite.
