Lexi Eddings offers a fun, witty and slightly snarky gentle romance with “The Coldwater Warm Hearts Club.”
After making it big in Boston as a designer, Lacy Evans is forced to return to her small-town roots in Coldwater Cove, Okla., after being swindled by her business partner. As she seeks to rebuild her life and get out of debt after the embezzlement, Lacy must learn to trust herself, and others, again.
Jacob Tyler was the high school heartbreaker who is now home from the war — with a new titanium leg thanks to an IED. He runs the Green Apple Grill, which hosts The Coldwater Warm Hearts Club, a group whose members seek to help other people while overcoming issues in their own lives — a helping others helps ourselves mentality.
Eddings brings us a fun romantic story as Lacy and Jacob grow in their attraction to each other, while each deals with their past traumas. Overall this book is fairly clean in the romance department, although there is some mild innuendo. And readers will fall in love with the characters and find them highly relatable — right down to the furry friends.
Even though “Coldwater Warm Hearts Club” is a romance tale, it’s also full of amazing little gems — caring for our vets and getting to the bottom of their trials, making the decision to be happy anywhere you are, finding value and worth in everyone, sowing and reaping, and learning to forgive and trust again.
And since this novel is also a fun take on small town life, those who enjoy series like Jan Karon’s Mitford and Philip Gulley’s Harmony will really enjoy Coldwater Cove. The book’s end even includes some recipes.
This novel is set to be released on Sept. 27. Check it out!
