It seems like love is in the air big time — everyone seems to be starting a new relationship or getting engaged or married — in Janice Thompson’s “Every Bride Has Her Day.” The story picks up immediately after “Every Girl Gets Confused” with the engagement of Katie Fisher and Brady James.
The problem is, though, Katie can’t enjoy her upcoming nuptial bliss because everyone has an idea for how her wedding should be. No one seems to care what HER ideas are for HER wedding. Katie must quickly learn how to rein in everyone and get her wedding back on track. And when a major misunderstanding literally rips her small hometown in two, her perfect day starts to look like it won’t be so perfect at all.
“Every Bride Has Her Day” is such a lovely story, a tale wrapped up in the comforts of home and love. But it’s also filled with many laugh-out-loud, snort-inducing moments, especially when adorable Aunt Alva comes into play.
Thompson fills her story with several lessons though — like learning that home truly is where the heart is, and the importance of feeling at home; having a happily-ever-attitude, even when things seems difficult; and that God always has a plan for us.
You will fall in love with both Katie and pro-basketball player Brady, as well as the Dallas bridal shop employees who work with Katie and Brady, and all of the family members, especially grandmother Queenie and the absolutely adorable Aunt Alva!
As an added bonus, this sweet story is filled with chapter titles taken from Martina McBride songs, and quotes by Audrey Hepburn — both whom inspire wedding gowns designed by Brady’s mom, Nadia.
This book releases May 17, 2016.
Five stars out of five.
