Readers can return to the Wingfeather Saga world with “A Ranger’s Guide to Glipwood Forest,” a resource that will help its reader travel throughout the Glipwood Forest, as well as the history of the Glipwood Official Rangers Guild (GORG).
Translated from the original by the saga’s original author, Andrew Peterson, “A Ranger’s Guide” returns us to Peterson’s fantastic world. Written by Owin Groverly and “embellished with nifty pictures by Owin’s son, Chonis Ponius Groverly, with assistance from Aeden Peterson, master of sketchery,” it begins with a foreword by Ollister B. Pembrick who reveals he found this book in his search of how to explore the Glipwood Forest and its essence.
Groverly reveals how he and eight others founded the GORG and created this guide, which reveals locations throughout the forest, like Trollright Stones, created by prehistoric troll actions; Brobby’s Folly, where Snickbuzzards lay their eggs; and Foot Rub Creek.
He shares many examples of plants that can be found within the forest, some helpful and some harmful, as well as different creatures, including the rockroach and the toothy cow.
“A Ranger’s Guide to Glipwood Forest,” which is due out Nov. 7, is another fun resource within the Wingfeather Saga, adding to readers’ understanding and appreciation of locations, creatures and plants within that world.
Five stars out of five.
