Finn McGregor and Dana Lewis are both trying to overcome traumatic accidents from their pasts. Will their experiences help bring them together, or pull them apart?
Irene Hannon re-introduces us to youngest McGregor brother Finn in “Tangled Webs.” He is recovering both physically and psychologically from a horrific accident that occurred while he was an Army Ranger. He decides to take a rest at a cabin in a remote forest, where he hopes to find healing and direction for his life.
Dana Lewis sought refuge at the cabin she inherited from her grandparents … and just happens to be “next door” to Finn’s cabin. She is also physically and psychologically recovering from a life-threatening situation. But as acts of vandalism start occurring on her property, she begins to wonder if she will ever be safe.
As Finn and Dana come together to figure out just what’s going on on her property, their relationship also begins to grow.
“Tangled Webs” is a great suspense thriller, with some romance thrown into the package. The author may reveal fairly quickly “whodunnit,” but she keeps you guessing as to how the perpetrator — or perpetrators — will be found out and caught.
But besides being a great story, “Tangled Webs” does provide some good lessons — learning to trust again, where and with whom to find refuge, and trusting in God for His help and provision.
She also does a great job developing the characters. You see into the hearts and souls of Dana and Finn. You’ll love diner waitress Hazel, and Chief Roger Burnett is full of intrigue and sorrow.
I will miss these “men of valor” — Mac, Lance and Finn McGregor — but look forward to Hannon’s next series.
Five stars out of five.
